My Old Top Bucket List Focus

When I first submitted my bucket list on August 9, 2011, my Top Bucket List Focus was to work for Curve Magazine, the best-selling lesbian magazine, and my favorite magazine.

Here is what I originally filled out on August 9, when I submitted my bucket list.

My Top Bucket List Focus and My Motivation Behind It

Work for Curve Magazine – I always wanted to work for Curve and applied once during college and did not get a response back. I saw that they are accepting interns and I want to apply for the web intern position. Curve is my favorite lesbian magazine, and my favorite magazine period.

I want to feel more connected to an LGBT community, and I want to be able to contribute to the queer community and help queer individuals feel like they are part of a community. I want them to know that they’re not alone, I want to give them support, and I want to help them know that they are okay just as they are. Curve helped me to accept myself and to not feel ashamed or scared. I would love to work for Curve and help others. Plus, I love the web, I love to write and I love to edit, so it just makes sense that I would love the editorial web intern position.

Also, all of my work projects are very short term, and I want to get into the flow of more consistency and more of a schedule so I can apply that productivity and focus to all aspects of my life. This job, although short-term, will be a stepping stone for my applied focus in my life.

The First Step I’ll Take To Make This Happen

I’ve already started my resume, my cover letter, and gathered my clips. I just want to polish everything, then send it.

The first step I’ll take is to pull out my resume, tweak it if needed, then declare it done.
