My motto: Live life with love, love for myself and love for others.
I love people, getting to know them, sharing experiences with them and learning from them. I love dancing, Halloween and travel. I love dancing because when I’m in the zone, I’m completely inhabiting my body and the present moment. I love Halloween because it’s eccentric and fosters creativity. I love travel because it pushes me outside of my comfort zone, allows me to experience other cultures and gives me an avenue to meet and connect with people that I normally wouldn’t have the chance to experience life with. I love supporting people and their passions, connecting people and building communities. I love writing, art and creation. I’m creating a queer/ally publication, The Human Experience. I’m a good listener. I’m an observer who takes action on my passions, sometimes impulsively, sometimes well planned out and sometimes both.
My current projects: Editing Promoting my mom’s book, Self-Love Diet: The Only Diet that Works, creating a queer/ally publication, The Human Experience (T.H.E.) / T.H.E. Blog, Curve Magazine writer (the best-selling lesbian magazine in the U.S.), Curve Magazine Social Media Manager, book reviewer for EDGE Gay Media Network (GLBT news and entertainment portal for 22 major cities), co-founded the Love Warrior Community & Self-Love Warrior (about self-love, self-acceptance and body positivity), founded Community Bucket list (goal setting and support on taking action on your passions, now), Emelina Minero Writes (personal queer focused blog). I also ghost write, edit and do other social media work.
Creativity: I also paint, write fiction, have written, directed and produced a play/variety show, made a rough cut of a 40-minute documentary and dabble in other creative forms.
My Evolution Post-Grad:
I’ve grown a lot since I made this site in July, 2011, and I’ve grown even more since I graduated from college in May, 2010. I categorize my post-grad life as a new phase into my evolution. If you want to read about the younger me when I first created this site, check out my first “Who Is Emelina?” page. Also, from the archives of Emelina 14 months ago, here is My Passion Chart, The Minimalism Project and Lifestyle Design. I’ll soon be updating My Self-Love Journey and My Travels, and I just updated Work With Me (which basically highlights my published writing).
If you want to see my growth 9 months after I made this site in March, 2012, then check out this interview I did on Musings On Life After College. Seven months later from that interview, on September 28, 2012, here I am. You already read about present-day Emelina. Cheers.
